The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO) is an agency under the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources.
Established in 2010 to regulate, manage, and promote sustainable wastewater collection, treatment, and disposal across Lagos State. With a mission to safeguard public health and protect the environment, LSWMO oversees the development and implementation of policies, standards, and infrastructure for effective wastewater management in alignment with global best practices.
The agency ensures compliance with environmental laws, issues permits to wastewater operators, monitors treatment plants, and promotes the adoption of innovative technologies for efficient service delivery. Through public awareness, partnerships, and enforcement, LSWMO plays a crucial role in advancing the Lagos State Government’s vision for a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable megacity.
